DOWNFORCE
is a design studio that specializes in high tech composite design, manufacturing and distribution; dedicated to providing solutions to customers specific design requirements. Downforce is widely known for it's automotive aerodynamics - Downforce, DF, Tourenn & Corsadio. All aspects of each project are completed in-house, within a 10,000 sq. ft. R&D and manufacturing facility, which is based in Orange County, California.
The Downforce team beholds extensive years of experience and unique skills in many forms of composite fabrication and design. The knowledge of composite fabrication and design includes (but is not limited to) the following:

DOWNFORCE takes pride in designing and creating a variety of new products for the automotive aftermarket aerodynamics industry (such as bodykits, fenders, spoilers, etc). The labels we produce are Downforce, DF, Tourenn, Corsadio as well as private (or custom) labels for select clients. Observing consumer response and input on issues pertaining to external appearance, material quality, fitment and performance, Downforce remains current with automotive enthusiasts’ needs. Moreover, the goal is to achieve these qualities in a design that is affordable and user friendly for easy installation. Downforce has been synonymous with “fitment, durability and functionality” in the automotive aftermarket industry.
Downforce products, Downforce show cars and customer vehicles which highlight Downforce products, have graced countless magazine covers, automotive publications and have been featured on television and in movies as well. Vehicles prominently featuring Downforce products have won numerous awards and have gained great acclamation from spectators in a variety of automotive related shows and events.
The automotive aftermarket aerodynamics industry is filled with companies promising products in the genre of “quality and durability.” However, most cannot match the depth of composites knowledge and manufacturing resources available to the talented, highly motivated and dedicated employees of Downforce. The differentiation from Downforce to its counterparts is definitely the fact that it is also a composites manufacturing company! Nothing is compromised during the whole production process. In translation, Downforce is the originating source of it's products - from start to finish...everything is produced in-house! In addition, Downforce focuses on utilizing the latest technology and quality raw materials. Fundamental Principle: The term downforce describes the downward pressure created by the aerodynamic characteristics of a car that allows it to travel faster through a corner by increasing the pressure between the contact area of the tire and the road surface, thus creating more grip.
RACING APPLICATIONS BY DOWNFORCE:
Racing applications encompass a large percentage of Downforce's services. Products are not only produced under the Downforce brand, but for private labels as well. Downforce has provided products and services for race teams and automotive related companies worldwide.
MOLDS BY DOWNFORCE:
Separate from Downforce designs, Downforce has the ability to mold and manufacture your custom designed part(s). Downforce has been a major contributor to the automotive aerodynamics market, providing accurate parts from customer designs and specifications. Working with these designs, the Downforce team is able to produce the molds and parts for your custom project.
NON-AUTOMOTIVE RELATED APPLICATIONS:
MOLDS BY DOWNFORCE (Non-automotive related):
Downforce has the experience to create and design custom molds and patterns for all of your composite needs - non related to the automotive industry. We are also able to modify existing designs to add functionality, strength, or aesthetics upon your request. Downforce has the ability to create and modify molds based on simple designs or CAD drawings.
Prototypes:
Downforce has produced hundreds of prototype molds. We can assist you in creating a mold to meet the specifications of almost any product. Our experience allows us to make modifications based on test results, customer feedback or revisions.

MANUFACTURING:
Composites can match all of the strength of steel with substantial reduction in weight and added flexibility in design. Downforce’s adapted carbon fiber composite serves as a replacement for many structural steel applications. Downforce products can provide the specific strength of steel with significant weight reduction. Downforce can take your CAD drawings and adapt them to carbon fiber finished products. We can help you find a lightweight solution to your new design or existing parts.
CAPABILITIES :
Downforce's production primarily services the automotive, commercial and industrial markets for any plastic related work. We can build prototypes to specifications from scratch. Our most important attribute is the tolerances for fitment and templated accuracy. We can build any tooling required from full on liquid cooled CNC aluminum molds, closed molds or open molds. Our tooling is certified for use from up to 450°F, which meet and exceeds aerospace autoclave specifications.
Downforce exterior performance products are widely known for its dynamic aesthetics aspect, but the mission is to offer these products at extremely affordable prices compared to competitors, in terms of fitment, surface quality, ease of installation, service life and retention value. We can build just about anything. Our current examples of products include aircraft parts, limousine interiors, off road trophy trucks, race car parts for Formula Nippon, high-end carbon fiber furniture, fixtures, cases and many other small low volume projects. We have the scope to work with all types of volume required. With two shifts running we can meet your high volume requirements dynamically.
WHAT DIFFERENTIATES DOWNFORCE FROM COUNTERPARTS?
INNOVATION :
Bringing innovation to the automotive marketplace; Downforce was the first to introduce "factory mounting" (to its side skirts) to the Acura NSX market. Downforce was also the first to introduce carbon fiber consoles and interior parts using the process of injection molding for rear mounting points.
QUALITY :
It's no secret why Downforce products are superior -
Downforce does not use inferior, low grade, expired raw materials imported from China (unlike our counterparts)...ever!
Do not be fooled by import companies with absolutely no knowledge of composites whom utilize slave labor rates from China. Example: There is no such thing as "Grade A carbon fiber" - this does not exist! The only high grade carbon fiber available is certified spec. Only a few carbon fiber manufacturers can produce certified spec carbon fiber and YES we do use certified MIL spec carbon fiber (exclusively from Hexcel). Our huge processing volume allows us to cut through drums of resin per week. We always stock the best and freshest materials. Downforce invests heavily into R&D to innovate new processes and utilize materials. You can have the confidence in Downforce knowing your products were produced with experienced craftsmanship and actual engineering.
FYI. Did you know most of the carbon fiber parts made in China or Taiwan actually weighs more than the part it replaced? These so called carbon fiber parts are just sloppy splash up parts with fiberglass splinters showing on the backside. You will notice these parts are painted black in areas to cover up cosmetic flaws. We have seen many products that will end up damaging your car because they were never tested or engineered to begin with. Have you seen carbon fiber hoods without hood pins? These typically will snap open while driving. Have you seen spoilers that are so heavy that it causes trunk hinges to bend. Or bodykits that flap on the highway? Surprisingly, some are US made, but worse, many of the products are produced in China and are distributed by US companies. These will make your car look worse! Plus, you will spending big dollars to fix the fitment, wavy ripples, etc.
Downforce takes pride in our quality products MADE IN THE USA! Every Downforce part is produced in-house in our facility using the most up to date tooling technology and our own proprietary processes. Pls. do not invest in companies that put up a facade and sell imported products from China that are created with inferior materials. Downforce uses MIL spec carbon fiber and certified carbon fiber exclusively from Hexcel®. Downforce only use raw materials from the USA, Canada, Germany, Japan, France, UK, Italy and Australia. You will not find a "Made in China" product here. Downforce is not just an automotive aftermarket company, but a true OE manufacturer with full production capabilities.
